Antique Silk Small Scatter Size Silk Blue, Yellow Rug, Circa Date: 1935. This exquisite piece, woven entirely in lustrous silk, represents a fine example of antique rugs from the transitional period, offering both visual brilliance and tactile luxury. The vibrant field is dominated by a rich, saturated yellow, serving as a luminous backdrop for a charming pictorial narrative. Stylized motifs of a spotted deer, a soaring bird, and an ancient, gnarled tree are rendered with textural variation, suggesting depth and movement within the landscape. A dramatic contrast is achieved by the deep, inky border, which grounds the composition. This prominent use of the blue color rugs palette frames the central scene with layers of intricate geometric patterns and auspicious symbols, demonstrating masterful control over the silk medium.
