Antique Shaker Rug Small Scatter Size Wool Coral, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece embodies the minimalist aesthetic characteristic of the shaker rug tradition, prioritizing utility and unadorned beauty. Woven entirely of wool, the surface texture is richly variegated, reflecting the hand-crafted nature inherent in these early American textiles. The dominant hue is a vibrant, yet earthy coral, achieved through a complex interplay of reds and creams, creating a stunning visual depth often associated with coral color rugs. The pattern is essentially an allover design of texture, broken only by subtle, horizontal bands of olive green at the top and bottom, grounding the piece with a quiet contrast. Measuring in a highly versatile small scatter size, this rug is perfectly suited for intimate spaces—such as a bedside accent, hallway entry, or in front of a hearth.
