Antique Sarouk Room Size Wool Red Square Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional Persian Sarouk exemplifies the finest weaving traditions of the Arak region during the early 20th century. The dense wool pile and robust construction speak to its enduring quality, while the deeply saturated field is rendered in a magnificent red hue, a desirable variation of the classic Sarouk palette. Woven to a generous proportion, this piece serves as a true room size square rug, perfectly anchoring a formal living area or grand dining space. The scale allows the intricate design work to unfold completely, providing a panoramic view of the master weaver's artistry, framed by a multi-layered border system featuring repeating palmettes and stylized foliage. The composition features a highly detailed, continuous allover pattern of scrolling vines, palmettes, and stylized floral sprays.
