Antique Sarouk Large Room Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of early 20th-century Persian weaving belongs to our curated collection of antique rugs. Woven in the highly sought-after sarouk style, it showcases the dense, high-quality wool pile and meticulous craftsmanship for which these pieces are renowned. The deep indigo field provides a striking contrast to the complex, rust-red and terracotta palmettes that dominate the composition. This classic palette exemplifies the enduring appeal of blue color rugs in traditional interiors. The design utilizes an intricate, repeating vine and floral motif that covers the entire field, creating an impressive visual density. Unlike medallion compositions, this piece features an allover pattern that ensures visual interest is maintained across the entire expanse of the carpet, regardless of furniture placement.
