Antique Heriz Persian Red 1935 Rug, Circa Date: 1935. This exceptional example of a Heriz weave from the early 20th century showcases the robust construction and commanding presence typical of this regional style. As one of our finest antique rugs, it represents a pinnacle of weaving tradition from Northwest Persia. The commanding central medallion contrasts sharply against the magnificent red field color. This rich, saturated tone provides a warm foundation that defines the rug's aesthetic character. The complexity of the spandrels echoes the main design elements, creating visual harmony. Heriz carpets are celebrated for their distinctive, highly stylized patterns, which translate traditional curvilinear motifs into a bold, angular vernacular.
