Antique American Hooked Rug American Brown 1930s, Circa Date: 1930s. This charming square example of American Hooked Rugs captures the enduring folk art tradition of the early 20th century, utilizing recycled materials to create enduring, textural domestic pieces. The central design features a bold, highly stylized blossom surrounded by leaves and framed by four radiating arms of petals. This striking and symmetrical composition, executed in the distinctive looped technique, places it among the finest examples of floral rugs produced during the Depression era. The palette is grounded in warm, sandy tones, placing it firmly within our collection of brown earth tone color rugs. The background texture, achieved through the dense hooking technique, provides a tactile, striated field that contrasts beautifully with the defined outlines of the motif.
