Antique American Yellow 1935 Square Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 48 x 50 inches (4' x 4'2"). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. This extraordinary textile piece captures the whimsical spirit of American folk art from the Depression era. The design employs a cheerful palette of sun-drenched yellow, creating a vibrant look that places it within the category of yellow textiles. The field utilizes an organized grid structure, presenting an allover pattern where various animal figures are distributed evenly across the square surface panels.
