Antique Persian Bidjar Herati Fish Pattern Hallway Runner Rug

Hallway Runner Rugs (2.08ft x 16ft), Country of Origin: Iran / Persia, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of antique Persian Bidjar rugs displays the powerful structure and dense knotting characteristic of Kurdish weaving from the Zagros Mountains. Its origin places it firmly within the esteemed tradition of Iranian Persian rugs. The elongated, narrow format suggests it was specifically intended for a grand corridor or entryway, making it a superb example of hallway runner rugs. The robust wool foundation ensures that this piece, like many fine antique rugs, retains its structural integrity despite a century of use and wear. The field utilizes a complex, repeating pattern, often referred to as an allover design, which eliminates the need for a central medallion and allows the eye to travel seamlessly across the length of the carpet.
