A striking antique blue Peking, hand-knotted in wool in China around 1900. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases a clouds + cloud bands across a blue palette, and measures 3'2" x 4'10". Antique Chinese Peking carpets were hand-woven in northern China in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are loved for their open, uncluttered fields, soft sculpted wool pile, and motifs drawn from Chinese symbolism - medallions, florals, birds and auspicious emblems.
