Antique Peking Small Scatter Size Wool Blue, Ivory Beige Cream White Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional Chinese textile captures the refined aesthetic of early 20th-century court artistry. Woven entirely of wool, this piece exemplifies the highly symbolic and pictorial designs characteristic of antique rugs from the region, often commissioned for high-status homes or governmental use. The central field is dominated by a majestic, sinuous dragon rendered in a deep, saturated indigo, a stunning example of blue color rugs. Below the dragon, a pair of stylized Foo Dogs stand guard beside a stepped architectural element, reinforcing the rug's protective and auspicious narrative. The composition is balanced by scattered clouds and traditional Chinese emblems, all executed with remarkable precision.
