Antique Peking Room Size Wool Black, Ivory Beige Cream White Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exquisite Chinese textile exemplifies the refined elegance of early 20th-century Peking weaving. Its generous dimensions classify it as a true room size rug, ideal for anchoring a sophisticated living space or formal dining area. The palette is defined by a dramatic contrast between the luminous, subtly striated ivory-beige field and the deep, saturated border. The use of a rich, almost midnight black color rugs in the outer frame provides a powerful grounding element, while delicate accents of soft blue and muted gold highlight the intricate motifs. Characteristic of the period's departure from dense traditional patterns, the design features a beautifully sparse arrangement of traditional Chinese symbols.
