$14,100.00

Antique Peking Chinese Geometric Blue 1920s Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional Chinese Peking carpet captures a stylized, immersive landscape, rendered in a striking palette dominated by rich indigo and deep navy. The artistic merit of this piece places it among the finest antique rugs produced during China's early Republican era. The field presents a complex, layered pictorial scene featuring traditional architecture—likely a temple or imperial compound—set against rolling hills and stylized water motifs. The use of negative space and the bold, graphic outlines lend the composition an Art Deco sensibility, while the subject matter remains rooted in classical Chinese iconography, depicting a serene, idealized vista.
