Antique Peking Chinese Allover Floral Beige 1900s Square Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional Chinese Peking square carpet from the early 20th century exemplifies the refined aesthetic of the period. Its expansive field is dominated by a warm, luminous beige tone, providing a serene backdrop for the detailed border. This piece is a superb example of antique rugs crafted during the Republic era. The central panel features a subtle, almost monochromatic field, allowing the texture and quality of the wool to speak for itself. The choice of a neutral ground highlights the sophisticated use of contrasting colors in the frame. The primary field color falls into the desirable category of ivory and beige color rugs, offering versatility for modern interiors seeking warmth without visual clutter. A striking border frames the composition in a deep, saturated indigo blue.
