Hooked Multicolor Wool Antique Small Scatter Size 1920s American Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This charming, evocative piece represents the domestic artistry characteristic of the American hooked rug tradition. The pictorial design, rendered in robust wool loops, captures a distinctly rustic, early 20th-century aesthetic that prioritizes narrative over formal symmetry. Its dimensions classify it as a small scatter size rugs, making it an ideal accent piece for a hallway, bedside, or intimate sitting area where space is at a premium. Such pieces, often created for personal use rather than commercial sale, possess a unique character that distinguishes them among general antique rugs available today. The central tableau presents a stylized winter landscape at dawn, featuring snow-covered hills, evergreen trees, and a winding path leading toward a brilliant red sun.
