Antique Oversized N.W. Persian Persian Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1825. This exceptional piece represents the pinnacle of early 19th-century weaving from Northwest Persia. Its unusual, elongated dimensions classify it as an oversized gallery piece, making it a rare find among room size rugs of this era. The masterful use of natural dyes is immediately apparent in the rich, saturated palette. The primary field is dominated by a profound indigo, a characteristic feature of the finest blue color rugs produced during the Qajar period. This deep hue provides a striking contrast to the secondary tones of terracotta, ivory, and soft rose used in the repeating motifs. The design employs a sophisticated allover pattern, where highly stylized palmettes and blossoming vines interlock seamlessly across the expansive field.
