Antique N.W. Persian Brown 1880s Hallway Runner Rug, Country of Origin: Iran / Persia, Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional piece represents the finest traditions of antique rugs from the late 19th century, showcasing a powerful, deeply saturated palette typical of nomadic and village weaving. The commanding central field is dominated by rich, oxidized tones, positioning it firmly within the category of brown earth tone color rugs. This deep coloration provides a dramatic, grounding contrast to the vibrant terracotta and ivory elements woven throughout the repeating stepped medallions, speaking volumes about the quality of the natural dyes used during this period. Woven in a desirable long and narrow format, this piece functions perfectly as a hallway runner rug, guiding the eye with its continuous vertical chain of stylized geometric motifs.
