Antique Navajo Native American Geometric Flat Weave Gray Rug, Country of Origin: Native American Rugs, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional textile presents a striking, large-scale geometric design, characteristic of the weaving traditions of the American Southwest. The flat weave construction emphasizes the graphic clarity of the pattern, setting it apart from typical piled antique rugs. The palette is masterfully restrained, utilizing deep charcoal, variegated taupe, and creamy white to create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The main field is dominated by massive, serrated diamond motifs, rendered in opposing tones of dark brown and off-white against a mottled gray color rugs background. Subtle bands of terra cotta and white frame the composition at the top and bottom, providing a vital, earthy accent.
