Antique Large Room Size Yellow Color Floral Chinese Art Deco Carpet

Antique Large Wool - Manchester Blue Yellow Hand Knotted Pile Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece captures the bold aesthetic of the Art Deco period, characterized by its dramatic use of color and scale. The expansive field is rendered in a luminous, saturated yellow, providing a striking contrast to the deep, complex borders. The central palette of warm yellow is highly unusual and suggests a commission of significant quality. This vibrant hue is framed by a broad border executed in a rich, dark Manchester Blue, creating a stunning visual tension. The use of blue color rugs in the perimeter allows the detailed Chinoiserie motifs—including delicate birds and scrolling vines—to stand out with impressive clarity. Hand-knotted from fine wool, the pile retains a luxurious, soft texture indicative of its early 20th-century origin.
