Antique Large Bakhtiari Persian Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional Persian Bakhtiari piece showcases the enduring artistry found in antique rugs from the Chahar Mahal region. Woven during the early 20th century, it embodies the robust construction and complex patterning characteristic of nomadic and village weaving traditions. The field is dominated by the iconic Khesti or garden panel layout, where dozens of individual squares are meticulously rendered. Each square presents a distinct, highly stylized motif—ranging from cypress trees and stylized florals to geometric medallions—creating a captivating allover design that demands close inspection. The palette is remarkably vibrant, utilizing a rich density of natural dyes.
