Antique Khotan Room Size Wool Yellow Rug, Country of Origin: East Turkestan, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional textile belongs to the distinctive category of khotan rugs, renowned for their unique blend of Central Asian geometry and subtle Chinese aesthetic influences. The provenance places it within the broader tradition of East Turkestan rugs. The design centers on a series of bold, stepped geometric diamonds defining the central axis. The wool foundation features a field dominated by a beautifully aged, soft yellow color rugs patina, which provides a serene counterpoint to the vibrant, oxidized accents and rich dyes used in the primary motifs. A complex system of intricate minor borders frames the central field, featuring stylized meander and repeating geometric patterns that emphasize the rug's structure.
