Antique Khotan Allover Geometric East Turkestan Hand Knotted Pile Brown Color Gallery Rug

Antique Khotan Allover Geometric Hand Knotted Pile Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional East Turkestan weaving presents a classic interpretation of the Khotan aesthetic, showcasing the sophisticated geometric vocabulary typical of khotan rugs. The design adheres to the traditional structure of the region while demonstrating a refined, almost minimalist palette. The field is dominated by a complex, repeating diamond lattice that forms an allover pattern, eschewing a central medallion for continuous visual movement. This structure emphasizes the rug's length and the intricate small-scale motifs nested within the larger geometric framework, creating a mesmerizing sense of depth and visual texture. The palette is restrained and elegant, featuring a deep, smoky taupe and brown ground contrasted sharply by luminous accents of ivory, beige, cream.
