Antique Kazak Small Scatter Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1880s. This exceptional example of 19th-century weaving represents the pinnacle of Caucasian tribal artistry. Such authentic antique rugs are prized for their robust construction and striking, saturated color palettes derived from natural dyes. Originating from the mountainous regions of the Caucasus, this piece exhibits the characteristic bold, graphic aesthetic of kazak rugs. The design centers on a deep indigo field, framed by a serrated inner border that transitions into wide, ivory-ground guard bands filled with stylized floral and cruciform elements. The intense, almost midnight blue color rugs field provides a powerful, uninterrupted visual anchor, allowing the intricate primary border to truly resonate.
