Antique Indian Oversized Room Size Wool Rug, Country of Origin: India, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece represents the finest decorative weaving traditions of Indian rugs from the early 20th century. Its considerable scale makes it a commanding foundation for any grand interior, showcasing the enduring appeal of antique rugs. Woven in high-quality wool, the palette is defined by its remarkable subtlety. The main field presents a soft, faded blush-beige, providing a neutral canvas upon which delicate motifs in muted indigo, olive, and ochre are layered. This refined coloration is characteristic of the Indian style developed during this period, favoring sophistication over saturation and allowing the intricate details to emerge gently. The design employs a complex, repeating vine system that covers the entire field, establishing an elegant pattern typical of allover rugs.
