A late 19th-century Indian Agra carpet from around 1890, measuring approximately 457.2 × 579.3 cm (about 15'0" × 19'0"). The composition is a rose floral design over a dusty rose ground, framed by a beige-toned border — a softer, more romantic palette than the saturated reds and blues typical of contemporary Persian Sultanabads of the same era. Agra, in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, has been a center of high-quality hand-knotted carpet production since the Mughal period of the 16th and 17th centuries.
