Antique Farahan Small Scatter Size Wool Ivory Rug, Country of Origin: Iran / Persia, Circa Date: 1890s. This exceptional example of antique rugs from the late 19th century showcases the refined weaving traditions specific to the Arak region of Iranian / Persian rugs. The Farahan provenance is renowned for its delicate balance of structure and ornamentation, reflecting a classical approach to Persian design. The wool pile displays a beautifully aged patina, featuring a central field dominated by a soft, warm ivory color. This neutral ground provides a striking contrast to the secondary tones of terracotta, rust, and deep indigo used in the intricate central medallion and borders. The subtle color shifts, achieved through natural dyes, speak to the rug's authenticity and age.
