Antique Ersari - Beshir Persian Knotted Coral Rug, Country of Origin: Iran Persia, Circa Date: 1860s. This exceptional piece represents a sophisticated cross-cultural weaving tradition, originating from the rich heritage of Iranian Persian rugs. The Beshir style, often associated with the Ersari Turkmen, is characterized by its robust wool quality and deep, saturated dyes, reflecting the nomadic artistry of the mid-19th century. The field is dominated by a repeating, highly stylized gul motif, rendered in deep madder and indigo. This dense arrangement creates a powerful visual rhythm across the textile. The structure of the composition follows a classic allover design format, where the pattern extends seamlessly from border to border, maximizing the visual impact of the intricate knotting.
