Antique Coral Donegal - Arts & Crafts Large Room Size Wool Rug, Country of Origin: Ireland, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of donegal Arts & Crafts weaving captures the spirit of the early 20th-century movement, emphasizing natural forms and high-quality, hand-knotted production methods distinct from industrial output. The central field is rendered in a rich, warm coral hue, providing a sophisticated backdrop for the subtle, repeating stylized motifs that form an elegant allover design. While the dimensions are considered room size rugs, the narrow, elongated format suggests it was intended for a grand hallway or a specific receiving room, offering a continuous flow of color and pattern. A striking border frames the composition, featuring robust, naturalistic blossoms and foliage intertwined with a bold, ribbon-like trellis in soft, muted tones.
