Antique Chinese Small Scatter Size Wool Horse Cover Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exquisite piece exemplifies the restrained elegance of early 20th-century Chinese weaving, characterized by its architectural structure and sophisticated color palette. It is a fine example among antique rugs of the period. The design centers around a striking rectangular panel of saturated coral, a bold choice that contrasts sharply with the surrounding neutral wool field. This field is adorned with stylized Ruyi cloud scrolls and delicate floral sprigs, rendered in varying shades of deep blue and pale teal, lending a serene quality to the composition. Multiple concentric borders frame the central panel, utilizing key-fret patterns and small geometric repeats in indigo and light blue.
