Antique Chinese Room Size Wool Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of early 20th-century Chinese weaving presents a sophisticated, softened palette characteristic of the period. Its generous scale qualifies it as a true room size rug, ideal for anchoring a major living space or formal dining room. The expansive field is dominated by a gentle, dusty coral hue, subtly shifting across the surface due to natural wear and light exposure. This nuanced tone places it among the most sought-after rust red color rugs of the era. The ground is overlaid with a delicate diamond lattice pattern, rendered in a faint sage green, providing textural depth without visual clutter. Scattered across the field are nine perfectly circular medallions. These secondary motifs introduce a striking contrast, utilizing deep indigo and pale ivory to highlight stylized floral and geometric forms.
