Antique Chinese Ningxia Square Small Scatter Size Wool Multicolor Rug, Circa Date: 1860s. This exceptional example of Chinese weaving from the late Qing Dynasty showcases the refined aesthetic typical of Ningxia production. Its dense wool pile and masterful use of space confirm its status among highly desirable antique rugs. The design is dominated by strong, architectural lines, featuring a highly detailed key-fret border that frames the central field. This reliance on structured, repeating motifs highlights the strong tradition of geometric patterns found in 19th-century Chinese textiles, providing a sense of order and timelessness. The palette is sophisticated yet vibrant, utilizing rich indigo blue juxtaposed against warm camel and ivory tones.
