$980.00

Antique Chinese - Baotou Chinese Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1925. This exceptional example of early 20th-century Chinese weaving represents the refined aesthetic sought after in fine antique rugs. Originating from the Baotou region, known for its distinct palette and stylized motifs, this piece offers both historical depth and decorative versatility. The field is dominated by a deeply saturated, warm hue, characteristic of the period's preference for natural dyes. The masterful use of this rich brown field creates a grounding effect, allowing the delicate floral elements to float gracefully across the surface without visual distraction. A repeating allover pattern of stylized white and pale tan blossoms defines the composition.
