Antique Chinese - Art Deco Room Size Wool Brown Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional Chinese Art Deco piece captures the transitional elegance of the 1930s, blending traditional Eastern iconography with modern geometric structure. The expansive central field is rendered in a deep, saturated brown earth tone color, providing a dramatic backdrop for the stylized ornamentation. The design features scattered, delicate bouquets arranged around a central medallion, characteristic of the era's departure from dense, all-over patterns. These stylized floral rugs motifs are executed in vibrant blues, corals, and creams, creating a striking contrast against the dark ground. The bold, navy blue border frames the composition with a subtle key pattern interwoven with trailing vines.
