Antique Chinese - Art Deco Large Room Size Wool Yellow Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of Art Deco design showcases the sophisticated aesthetic that emerged from its Chinese origin during the early 20th century. The piece successfully bridges traditional Eastern iconography with the bold, simplified compositions favored by the modern movement. The central field is dominated by a brilliant, saturated shade of yellow, creating a luminous focal point that defines the rug's character. This striking yellow color is highly characteristic of the period's desire for dramatic, high-contrast palettes. Minimalist sprigs of foliage and stylized vases are scattered across the expansive field, preventing the composition from becoming overly dense.
