Light Sky Blue Antique Caucasian Square Small Scatter Wool Kazak Rug

Antique Caucasian Square Small Scatter Size Wool Blue Rug, Circa Date: 1900s. This exceptional example of nomadic weaving captures the robust geometric tradition of the Moghan region, distinguished by its striking use of color and powerful composition. The saturated field of sky blue provides a dramatic backdrop for the earth-toned medallions, a highly sought-after characteristic among blue color rugs. The composition is dominated by four large, stepped hexagonal medallions rendered in deep terracotta and tan, each containing highly stylized cruciform and animal motifs. This dense arrangement, where the main elements are scattered across the field rather than centralized, exemplifies the characteristic allover rugs pattern often favored by Caucasian weavers seeking maximum visual impact. The Square format of this piece makes it a versatile addition to various interior layouts.
