Antique Caucasian - Karabagh Chinese Knotted Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional antique rugs piece seamlessly blends the robust structure associated with Caucasian weaving traditions with the sophisticated, open compositions characteristic of early 20th-century Chinese Art Deco design. The result is a highly transitional and visually striking floor covering that speaks to the globalized aesthetics of the period. The palette is dramatically rendered, utilizing a rich, saturated magenta in the wide primary border that sharply contrasts with the expansive, mossy field. This deep, almost olive, hue establishes the rug as a notable example among green color rugs, providing a grounding foundation for the intricate decorative elements that emerge from the edges.
