Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Olive, Purple Rug

Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Olive, Purple Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional room size example of Art Deco design captures the period's fascination with Eastern aesthetics, presenting a highly stylized and asymmetrical composition. The dramatic visual tension created by the deep, saturated purple border against the field of soft olive green is characteristic of high-end 1920s textile design. The central field is dominated by a sophisticated, muted olive hue, providing a serene backdrop for the sparse Chinoiserie elements. This particular shade of olive green is highly sought after, reflecting the era's move toward more subdued yet complex color palettes. Delicate flowering branches, rendered in shades of lavender and gold, sweep across the field, anchored by the graceful silhouette of a long-tailed bird.
