Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Navy, Pink Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional example of early 20th-century Chinese Art Deco weaving presents a dramatic contrast of color and scale. Its generous dimensions qualify it as a true room size rug, ideal for anchoring a sophisticated living space or grand dining room. The central field is rendered in a saturated, near-black navy, providing a profound depth that allows the delicate floral elements to float above the surface. This use of a deep, rich hue is characteristic of the period's departure from traditional palettes, offering a dramatic backdrop often sought in blue color rugs. Cascading vines and stylized blossoms populate the periphery of the field, rendered in subtle shades of rose, gold, and pale violet.
