Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Coral, Green Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece captures the transitional elegance of the 1920s, merging traditional Chinese iconography with the bold, open compositions favored by the Art Deco movement. Such pieces are highly sought after by collectors of antique rugs. The expansive field is dominated by a rich, deeply saturated coral hue, providing a dramatic backdrop for the sprawling, naturalistic vine and blossom motifs. Scattered across this vibrant canvas are delicate depictions of birds, vases, and stylized Ruyi clouds, executed in a palette of soft blues, yellows, and lavender. This intense field color places it firmly within the category of coral color rugs. A powerful contrast is established by the wide, striking border in a deep teal-green, framing the central design with architectural precision.
