Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Blue and Yellow Rug

Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Blue and Yellow Rug, Country of Origin: China, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece captures the transitional design period of the early 20th century, where traditional Eastern craftsmanship met the geometric boldness of Western Art Deco sensibilities. The substantial scale of this piece qualifies it as a true room size rug, designed to anchor a major living space with its commanding presence. The field is dominated by a rich, burnished yellow hue, providing a luxurious, almost metallic sheen that is characteristic of high-quality Chinese wool from this era. This central expanse is subtly punctuated by stylized floral medallions rendered in deep blues, yellows, and pinks. The use of the rich, saturated blue color in the border creates a powerful visual frame against the luminous field.
