Antique Art Deco Room Size Wool Black, Coral Rug, Circa Date: 1920s. This exceptional piece captures the transitional elegance of the early 20th century, merging traditional Eastern motifs with the streamlined geometry characteristic of the Art Deco movement. It is a stunning example among antique rugs from this highly collectible era. The palette is defined by a striking contrast: a vibrant coral field, densely filled with stylized, scrolling foliage, is dramatically framed by a wide, solid black outer border. The use of deep black color rugs provides a powerful anchor to the otherwise warm and luminous central design. Secondary accents of soft blue, sage green, and deep burgundy punctuate the inner border, which features stepped corners and bold, stylized chrysanthemums.
