Antique American Hooked USA Allover Geometric Hallway Runner Rug, Country of Origin: American USA Rugs, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional textile represents the robust tradition of American hooked rugs, a folk art form that flourished in the early 20th century, utilizing recycled materials to create durable and highly textural floor coverings. The long, linear format identifies this piece specifically as a hallway runner rug, designed to define and elongate transitional spaces. Its composition is defined by vertical striations of color, achieved through the looping technique, giving the surface a dense, corduroy-like texture that is visually striking and resilient underfoot. The palette is a rich tapestry of variegated hues—deep reds, forest greens, and earthy browns—blended in a manner that creates an abstract, rhythmic flow.
