Antique American Hooked Rug Hallway Runner Wool, Country of Origin: American USA Rugs, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional piece is a prime example of early 20th-century folk textile art from the American USA Rugs tradition. The robust, hand-hooked wool construction speaks to the durability and craft inherent in these domestic creations, reflecting a resourceful, quilt-inspired aesthetic typical of the era. The design employs a striking checkerboard structure, where alternating squares present two distinct visual themes. One square features stylized botanical elements—berries, leaves, and blossoms—while the adjacent square displays a complex, multi-colored geometric star motif. This repeating structure creates an allover design that is both visually complex and highly organized.
