Antique American Hooked Room Size Wool Multicolor Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional piece exemplifies the enduring charm of American textile craft, utilizing the traditional hooking technique to create a surface rich in texture and visual depth. The naive, folk-art sensibility of the design provides a unique aesthetic contrast to more formal weaving traditions, standing as a unique example among fine antique rugs. The composition features a striking grid arrangement, where alternating squares display either a stylized, naive floral bloom or an abstract, concentric square design rendered in textured loops. This repeated, non-directional structure creates a captivating visual rhythm across the entire field, classifying the piece among true allover rugs.
