Wool 1925 Hooked Square Small Scatter Size Multicolor American Antique Rug, Circa Date: 1925. This charming piece is a superb example of the American hooked rug tradition, showcasing the ingenuity of early 20th-century textile craft. Its practical small scatter size and square format make it an ideal accent piece for a hallway or intimate sitting area, offering both historical depth and immediate visual warmth. The design employs a striking geometric arrangement, utilizing repeating L-shapes or "log cabin" blocks set in a dense, square interlocking grid. This complex structure creates an engaging visual rhythm across the surface, classifying it among the finest allover rugs of the period, where the pattern fills the entire field without reliance on a defined central medallion.
