Antique Agra - Cotton Large Room Size Cotton Green Rug, Circa Date: 1930s. This exceptional Indian weaving, rendered entirely in cotton, presents a sophisticated palette anchored by a lush, deep sage field. The use of cotton provides a distinct softness and sheen, differentiating it from traditional wool pieces. The striking hue firmly establishes it within the category of desirable green color rugs. The field design features a magnificent sequence of large, stylized ogival medallions, densely packed and highly ornate. These medallions contain complex palmettes and delicate floral sprays rendered in cream, pale yellow, rose, and light blue. The continuous nature of the pattern, which repeats seamlessly across the field, is characteristic of allover rugs designed to maximize visual impact in grand, expansive interiors.
