Antique American 1920s Multicolor Quilt: a quilt made in the United States, 67 x 87 inches (5'7" x 7'3"). It is pieced from fabric and quilted through to a backing, not knotted or woven like a rug. Quilts like this were made as bed coverings; today they are hung as textile art or used as a throw or bed topper. Because it is a textile, we do not recommend it for use on the floor. The design is characterized by its bold, minimalist structure, featuring a deep, near-black field framed by two highly saturated blue bands. This minimalist aesthetic relies on strong lines and high contrast, placing it firmly within the tradition of geometric textiles. Furthermore, the distinctive surface texture and construction emulate the look of a traditional textile quilt, showcasing an unusual and highly collectible style.
