A striking antique red Chinese Art Deco, hand-knotted in wool in China around 1920. This one-of-a-kind piece showcases an open field medallion across a red palette, and measures 9'4" x 11'6". Chinese Art Deco rugs emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, when weavers in Tianjin - most famously in the workshops associated with Walter Nichols - paired traditional Chinese craft with the bold, asymmetrical, modern aesthetic of the Art Deco movement.
